COS is a new player in the fast fashion game. My sister blogger Jolain Muller of PrimaDarling.com fame, turned me onto it back in the early summer. Besides its very reasonable pricing, it’s an unusual company with its own very distinct look.
COS is a Swedish fashion brand for women and men who want modern, functional, considered design. Offering reinvented classics and wardrobe essentials, they create pieces that are made to last beyond the season. Using new techniques and traditional methods COS forms timeless, understated collections. I tested the water earlier in the summer visiting their store across from the Public Library on 5th Ave. It was in Paris a few weeks ago that I jumped in the deep end finding a few great things that will give my closet a boost.
Namely a dark navy overcoat in a medium weight textured wool. It looks a bit monastic with very spare lines, single breasted and ending at mid calf. Navy is the new black most everywhere in Paris and this coat looked really smart. The fabric is deceiving has a great weight for spring and summer but works well now with our endlessly mild autumn. It looks great with super casual clothes or over a suit or jacket.
In addition to the coat there were some great sweaters to choose from. I wear sweaters most every day in the winter and saw several that had a very subtle forward feel. That’s what’s great about COS. It’s a forward look that doesn’t scream fashion; more good smart style.
