Mustering the energy to celebrate this holiday took some doing. But Thanksgiving waits for no one and I’m in step with the proceedings no matter my misgivings.
With my big sister Pam, my Mother and Anton we are spending this holiday together at home in East Hampton. Pam will do the honors this year as she’s an excellent cook. With lots of stories and laughs we will celebrate everything we’re grateful for. There are too many things to list, but the biggest one of all is that we are together, our friends and extended family are well, and each of us are hopeful that life will continue to surprise and delight.
And the things that are beyond our control, well, they will sort themselves out one way or another. So pitch in, dig in and show each other and those we meet that we are a decent and loving people. Out of respect for the flocks of wild turkeys roaming through the woods behind the house, we’ve followed the President’s example and have instead decided on Duck!
My greatest thanks this holiday goes to our magnificent First Family and all they have done for us and given of themselves to us and the world. We have been enormously blessed these last 8 years. I want to thank them for all of their generosity. They’ve left us so much better off than we were !!!!
